Art in Malaga Tour

Malaga Art, Culture and Picasso Escorted Day Tour

Malaga day tour and Picasso museumMalaga is a beautiful and lively Mediterranean city with an excellent harbour. The city is the birthplace of Pablo Picasso and Toma Tours have designed this tour around his early formative years.

We will show you many parts of the city he lived, studied and played in before he moved away at the age of 10. The focus of our visit is the marvellous Picasso Museum and we have a special guided tour in English, led by one of the members of the educational department.

After our visit of the museum, we will continue to explore the Old Town of Malaga, recently restored and boasting many beautiful monuments.

During the nineteenth century Malaga enjoyed popularity as a winter resort for the wealthy, famed for its elegance and sophistication.  The impressive park La Alameda dates back to that time and is recognised as one of the most celebrated botanical collections in Europe.  The brand new MUELLE 1, the new pleasure Marina is a treat to the eyes and the taste buds, with incredible modern architecture and fantastic restaurants.

The focus of our private tour in Malaga is the childhood and life of Pablo Picasso and we will be guided around the collection of the Picasso Museum by a professional English speaking guide.  The Picasso Museum sits in the heart of the old town of the city, where we will also enjoy a sherry in a tavern before going for a delicious lunch of Spanish dishes. Lunch will be in a typical restaurant specializing in fish and seafood with an excellent meat menu also!

This day tour is a fabulous introduction to one of the most overlooked cities in Andalucia, and a perfect taster of the art and culture of this remarkable province.
