In the heart of Malaga province, where history and innovation entwine, a new marvel is set to open its doors. On 22nd February, Laberintus Park, the largest hedge maze in Spain, will welcome visitors to an immersive experience.
Just how big is big?
Located in the town of Humilladero, near Antequera, this extraordinary maze spans over 7,400 square metres, offering challenges for all ages and abilities. From quick 30-minute routes to a two-hour labyrinthine adventure, guests will navigate a world inspired by the Alhambra’s gardens while engaging with cutting-edge biotechnological systems.
It seems particularly fitting that this labyrinthine wonder is opening in the same part of Malaga province that TOMA & COE founder Manni Coe calls home. After all, under the banner of Labyrinth Writers Retreats, TOMA & COE already leads literary journeys through the winding pathways of storytelling, offering retreats in places that inspire creativity and exploration. Now, a physical maze (under the name of Laberintus) joins the landscape, a place to quite literally get lost and found.

Designed by world-renowned labyrinth creator Adrian Fisher, Laberintus Park is more than just an impressive maze. Its pathways, spanning nearly 8,000 metres, incorporate bioreactors that generate energy and water from the earth, as well as biological activators that interact with human touch. According to BIOO, the company behind these innovations, the maze’s plants act as “biological antennae,” connecting visitors to nature in an unexpected way.
An educational hub
Beyond being an architectural and technological feat, Laberintus Park is designed as an educational hub. With workshops on sustainability, adventure challenges, and interactive experiences, it aims to foster environmental awareness while providing a thrilling attraction for visitors.
The mayor of Humilladero, Auxi Gámez, highlighted the park’s role in preserving the town’s traditional essence while embracing a forward-thinking vision of tourism. As an economic and cultural driver, Laberintus Park is set to position Humilladero on the map as a destination for innovative, sustainable travel – and TOMA is a fan of that!
For those who love the thrill of the unknown, whether in the pages of a novel or the twists and turns of a physical maze, Laberintus Park offers an invitation: step inside, wander without a map, and embrace the joy of discovery.
Andalucia has long been a place where stories unfold in the most unexpected ways. Perhaps, for some, their next great adventure will begin here.
