Boutique Day Tour to Tangier

Visiting the market in MoroccoTOMA & COE has designed a very special trip to Tangier offering a new insight into the heart and soul of Morocco. Tangier is often seen as just a port town for Spain, but this special day tour with TOMA will allow you to experience Morocco in a whole new light.

The fast ferry from Tarifa to Tangier gives us the best arrival time possible without the 5am start of the “big bus tour” companies, and we have our own local guide and a private mini bus at our disposition throughout the day.

First stop will be the Peninsula of Cabo Espartel to gaze at the vast Atlantic Ocean where it meets the Mediterranean. Guests have a chance to take a camel ride through the sand dunes if they wish, before we head off on our way past the Palace of the Moroccan King and see the “surprising” side to life in Tangier.

The minibus will drop us off to begin our exploration of the Kasbah and the Old Medina.  Learn some fascinating insights into Islamic tradition, the culture of neighborhoods and see artisans at work; bakers, carpet weavers and tailors among others. You will also visit the incredible American Legation, the first US owned property outside of the USA. It used to be the American Embassy and is now a museum.

Lunch will be a tasty and traditional meal of Harira (Moroccan Soup), couscous, kebab and a typical dessert. (Lunch is included but drinks are extra)

Then in the afternoon there will be time for some assisted Retail Therapy for those that might wish to take home a more lasting memory of Morocco.  There is a wealth of natural products grown in this country and they claim to have a remedy for every ailment!

We will enjoy an afternoon tea in a typical Moorish House before making our way back to the Port for our Ferry back to Tarifa.
