Day Trips
Private day tours across Andalucia (and beyond)
Andalucía is one of the most culturally layered regions in Europe, and much of it is within a single day’s reach of the Costa del Sol. TOMA & COE has been designing day trips across southern Spain, and over the sea to Morocco, for around twenty years, working with local guides, historians and specialists to ensure that every outing goes well beyond what a standard coach tour would show you.
Whether you’re joining us for a few hours in Málaga’s old town or spending a full day in the Alhambra, a day trip with TOMA & COE is a private, unhurried experience shaped around your group, your pace, and what genuinely interests you.
All our day trips are available as private tours for individuals, couples, families and groups of any size. We also create bespoke itineraries for those who have something specific in mind. If you can’t see what you’re looking for, just ask.
How to choose your perfect day trip
With multiple tours spanning cities, countryside, food, wine, history and culture -not to mention a ferry crossing to Morocco – there’s a lot to explore. Here’s a quick guide to help you find the right fit.
First time in Andalucía
Start with the classics. The Magnificent Granada Tour and Secrets of Seville are our most popular days out for a reason. Both cities reward the kind of guided access and contextual depth that TOMA & COE is known for.
Returning visitor?
Go for something more unexpected. Mr Henderson’s Railway, described by Michael Portillo as one of the most picturesque train journeys in Europe, or a day trip across to Tangier are both experiences most visitors to the region never discover.
Travelling with family?
The Olive Farm Experience, Archidona & Antequera and the Cooking Class in Málaga all work beautifully across generations.
Food and wine your priority?
The Spirit of Jerez, Ronda & Winery, Málaga Tapas Tour and Marbella Tapas Tour are made for you.
Want something contemplative?
The Camino Mozárabe walk from Málaga or the evening Córdoba Mosque Tour — the Mezquita by night is genuinely one of the most extraordinary experiences in all of Spain.

Cities & Culture
Food, Wine & Andalucían Flavour
Southern Spain’s culinary identity runs deep, from the sherry bodegas of Jerez to the olive groves of the interior and the tapas bars of the Costa del Sol. These day trips are built around eating, drinking and understanding why Andalucían food is so much more than a side dish to the sightseeing.

Spirit of Jerez
Ronda & Winery

Marbella Tapas Tour
Cooking Class in Málaga
Olive Farm Experience
Beyond the cities lies a landscape of whitewashed hilltop towns, bull farms, olive groves and ancient market routes. These tours move at the slower pace of rural Andalucía and reveal a region that feels entirely removed from the coastal resorts.

Something completely different
Some of our most memorable day trips are the ones people weren’t sure about. A morning ferry to Tangier. A Victorian-era train journey through the hills of Andalucía. A hike along a Camino route that has barely changed in centuries. These are the days that tend to stay with people longest.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are TOMA & COE day trips private or shared with other groups?
All our day trips are available as private tours. This is how we operate by default. We do not combine private bookings with strangers, so whether you’re a couple or a group of twenty, the experience is tailored to you.
Where do your day trips depart from?
Most of our day trips depart from the Costa del Sol, with flexible pickup arrangements from Marbella, Málaga, Fuengirola, Torremolinos and surrounding areas. We can also arrange departures from other locations, just let us know when you enquire.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible. Popular tours such as the Magnificent Granada Tour and the Tangier day trip can fill up several weeks in advance. That said, we always do our best to accommodate last-minute enquiries.
What's included in the price?
This varies by tour and is detailed on each individual tour page. As a general rule, our prices include a private expert guide and, where transport is part of the tour, private transfers. Entry fees, ferry crossings and meals may or may not be included depending on the specific tour; please check the individual listing or ask us when you enquire.
Are your tours suitable for children?
Many of our day trips are excellent for families with children. The Olive Farm Experience, Cooking Class in Málaga and Archidona & Antequera are particularly well-suited for mixed-age groups. Tours involving longer walks or ferry crossings (such as Tangier) may require some planning around younger children. We’re happy to advise when you contact us.
Are the tours suitable for guests with limited mobility?
We always try to accommodate guests with mobility considerations, and many of our tours can be adapted. Please mention any specific requirements when you enquire and we will do everything we can to create a comfortable and rewarding experience.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Andalucía enjoys excellent weather for most of the year, but in the rare event of severe conditions that affect safety or significantly impact the experience, we will discuss rescheduling options with you. We do not cancel tours due to ordinary rain.
Can I combine a day trip with a private bespoke itinerary?
Absolutely. Many guests use our day trips as a starting point and then return for a longer, fully bespoke journey through the region. You can explore our Extended Tours or contact us to discuss a Bespoke Tour designed entirely around your interests.
Do I need to bring anything specific?
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for most tours, as the historic centres of Andalucía’s cities feature cobbled streets and uneven surfaces. For the Tangier tour, you will need a valid passport. Any specific requirements are noted on the individual tour pages.
Can't find the day trip you're looking for?
If you have something specific in mind we can create it. Get in touch via our contact page and tell us what you have in mind.
