About the tour
You cannot fail to be enchanted by Ronda, capital of the route of the Pueblos Blancos (White Villages). This historic town perches precariously atop a dramatic cliff, with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
The romantic travellers of the 18th and 19th centuries “discovered” Ronda, and the spectacularly-located town has inspired many writers including Hemingway, Orson Welles and the German poet Rilke. But long before its literary fans, the Moors truly left their mark on the town, with their Arab baths, fortifications, and a culture of Al-Andalus that can still be detected today.
Wine-making is also a rich part of Ronda’s heritage, so to compliment your tour of the historic quarter, you will also visit a boutique winery housed in an ancient monastery of the Trinity Order.
With an altitude of 650m (high for vineyards) and chilly evening temperatures that calm the grapes, Ronda produces very distinguished wine. The proof will be in the tasting.
Departs at 9am, returning around 6pm.
