Views from the terraces stretch across the valley to Gibraltar and Morocco; space for your ideas to take flight.You’ve found yourself at Toma & Coe’s Andalucian Writers Retreat, where you have the luxury of a relaxed and supportive week to focus on your writing.
In beautiful surroundings of the village of Gaucín, with inspiring workshops and helpful feedback from two best-selling authors, you’ll have the chance to gain motivation and deepen your creativity.
Your time is your own but every day there is an optional morning writing workshop tailored to the group. These will include writing exercises, themed discussions, and opportunities to read from your work in a supportive atmosphere.
Suitable for those at every stage of the writing journey, fiction or non-fiction, whether you’re starting out or well under way.
Your Hosts
Joanna Quinn is the author of The Whalebone Theatre, a Sunday Times and New York Times bestseller. Her novel was shortlisted for Best Debut Fiction at the British Book Awards, The Authors’ Club Best First Novel award, The Society of Authors McKitterick Prize and The Winston Graham Prize for Historical Fiction. It was chosen as a 2022 Book of the Year by The Times, The New York Times, Amazon, The Washington Post, Red magazine and Waterstones.
Joanna has also worked as a journalist and is currently completing her PhD in Creative Writing.
Manni Coe is founder and co-owner of TOMA & COE, and author of the Sunday Times Bestseller brother.do.you.love.me. The book was shortlisted for the British Book Awards 2023 in the category Non-fiction: Narrative. Waterstones selected the book as its Book of the Month in March 2024.
Manni’s love of travel and writing inspired him to create this Writer’s Retreat, so you can grow on your personal writing journey.

Rooms are priced as follows, first come, first served:
2 standard twin places €1,950 per person
2 superior twin places €1,990 per person
2 standard rooms (double room for single person) €2,190 per person
3 superior rooms (double room for single person) €2,350 per person
For two people happy to share a double bed, i.e. couples, mother/daughter, best friends etc, the standard and superior rooms can be booked for double use. Please let us know when you make the enquiry.
